A peek at my progress..

So for the last month I've been madly exploring and sketch-painting landscapes in and around Brisbane for the exhibition in July. Here's a preview of one piece in progress, the Sirromet Winery at Mount Cotton. Any suggestions for interesting locations are very welcome.

This being the year of big leaps and creative freedom I've decided to dive deep into oil as a medium. I'm very comfortable with the ways of watercolour and have been for years, however there's something to be said for the thrill of the unknown. I was introduced to oil painting briefly before leaving France last year and I thank Catherine Harley for passing on her passion.
