Ochre Turner - Sketch Portrait in Oil

We're heading into the 4th week of the QUT teaching semester for 2012 and I am just loving the amout of energy and creativity that is coming back at me from my students. I put down this portrait in pencil and oil last Thursday after a very large week. I found I was filled with creative energy that just needed to be expended. Ironically, my body itself was shattered.. so I painted this portrait of Ochre whilst sitting on the floor, in order to conserve what juice was left.

The mediums I used here are colored pencil (faber castel polychromos), in red, blue and yellow. Then Black, white and blue oils on primed craft paper... very cheap, yet I think pretty groovy.

This was a quick study finished in 2.5 hours. And although it is rough, it has a certain charm. I'm happy, and it makes me smile.
