the body weeps but we'll be OK
Ink and acrylic on canvas. 90 x 90cm
With this blog, my aim is to post a slather of ideas, lines, colour and inevitably a little bit of babble. I would like it to be a place where Architecture meets Art, falls in love and procreates. This is my passion, brilliant, unguarded and unafraid.

Flying scull wearing a tiara? Why not. It's dream or die.
I'm waiting for my car to get serviced whilst exploring the seventeen mile rocks riverside park.. It's a real find. This is the first time I've posted directly from site so here goes!!
It's about time I started mining my travel sketches. After visiting the Matisse exhibition yesterday I was inspired by the way he privliged the line as a way of simplifying and distilling the essence of the subject. My previous knowledge of his work was limited to his paintings and his marvelous use of colour. It was awesome to learn that his passion for drawing was at the forefront of his artistic practice. At the conclusion of the exhibition, GOMA has set up a Matisse Drawing Room filled with sculptures, fruit, teapots, ipads on easels and good old fashion pencils and paper. It was a brilliant ending, and a clever way to seduce the public to sit and buy a slice of citrus tart... lightly topped with toffee, it comes highly recommended by me. Well done Brisbane.
Beautiful bodies, magical lands. Objects and shadows, light from my hands. Textures and treasures, a story to tell. Throwing a penny in my wishing well.
I found this little beauty in northern NSW. It's so well preserved and beautiful! I'm spending some time sketching it before I hand it over to my studio buddy. The magic presence behind Ruby and Prankstar.
I've been sticking to a strict primary palette of acrylics for the past month, though upon visiting the art shed today, I couldn't resist this cobalt turquoise tube.. lush no? The colour reminds me of the frozen lakes just outside of Christchurch in NZ.
Humans - are - awkward - sexy - raw - beautiful - imperfect. This big charcoal sketch on canvas is waiting patiently for me to turn up tomorrow and go mental. Exciting.
My first attempt (in a looong while) at lino printing. The result so far is a bit shit but the lino itself is actually quite beautiful I think. I also only have one bleeding finger gouge so I'd call that a success. Anyways.. once it's dry I'll have a play with some soft pastels.
