CT Reconstruction of Skeleton and Skin

CT Reconstruction of Skeleton and Skin | Indigenous Australian Woman

With this project the brief was to reconstruct anonymised CT data of a skeleton and skin using digital modelling software to create a base image canvas for future medical illustrations. A decision was made early on in the process to create an image of an Indigenous Australian Woman with the use of multiple source images. Thus the final image does not depict one person, but is a fictionalised amalgamation of many faces. Many medical images are based upon white, caucasian men and women. There is much need for equality of representation within medical illustration and my future work will be a conscious part of this shift.

This project was undertaken using InVesalius, Zbrush, Keyshot and Adobe Photoshop.
