The Ferrovia Train Station is a remarkably simple and beautiful building. Exiting onto the plaza in front I was astounded by the power of the cantilever to frame the cathedral on the other side of the canal. In a place like Venice, or anywhere really, it just goes to show how a modest and well designed building can be a real asset. There's a sketch of the front elevation of the ferrovia...watch for that. Here we can see again my interest in the ground treatment of another plaza. La classe!
